Police arrested a 37-year-old Bronx man on Wednesday who allegedly pushed a senior into a wall inside a Manhattan transit hub earlier this week.

Sherlock Arana, of Mott Haven, was arrested for assaulting a 70-year-old woman inside a subway pathway toward the 6 train near Lexington Avenue and E. 53rd Street on the Upper West Side on the morning of May 12.

Arana allegedly approached the woman and, without warning, pushed her forcefully into a wall, causing her to hit her head and fall to the ground, according to the police investigation.

Officers from the 19th Precinct and Transit District 4 responded to the scene along with EMS, who brought the victim to NYU Langone Medical Center for injuries to her head and neck.

It is unclear right now where police picked up Arana, but it was within the 13th Precinct just before 7 a.m. on May 14. Police on Tuesday put out photos and a description of the suspect, which likely helped police find him.

Arana is charged with second-degree assault and second-degree harassment.
