  • A globe that displays images of global migration of the past and present is previewed May 7, 2015, on Ellis Island, part of The Peopling of America Center that will open May 20th. The new installation will feature exhibitions that chronicle immigration to America before the processing station at Ellis Island opened in 1892 and after it closed in 1954, making it the nation�s official museum chronicling all immigration from the colonial era to today.
