An alleged fare beater busted in Midtown on Tuesday was found to be a wanted stabbing suspect with a rap sheet full of more than 50 prior arrests, police said Wednesday.

Law enforcement sources said 40-year-old Camilo Torres of Brooklyn was spotted allegedly entering the subway system without paying through an emergency gate at the 42nd Street-Port Authority station just before 3:30 p.m. on April 15.

Officers from the Transit District 1 Public Safety Team stopped Torres and noticed two knives in his pocket. After stopping him and obtaining his identification, they learned that he was wanted for a March 28 Midtown stabbing.

According to sources familiar with the incident, Torres allegedly got into an argument with a 53-year-old man on West 52nd Street and 9th Avenue during which he allegedly threatened him, stating: ”I’m a crazy motherf—er, I will kill you.”

During the altercation, he reportedly stabbed the victim in the left leg, causing him serious injury.

On Tuesday, the transit officers took Torres into custody, charging him with assault and criminal possession of a weapon for the March 28 stabbing. Later, he was additionally booked on a burglary charge for an incident that happened back in February.

In that case, police sources reported, Torres allegedly kicked open the door to a Midtown apartment and trashed the place while attempting to locate someone — breaking a coffee table and smashing a laptop worth $2,000 while threatening the occupant with a 12-inch knife.

Sources familiar with Torres had been previously booked more than 50 arrests, including the assault on police officers who he allegedly spat on and kicked who tried to stop him from performing graffiti in 2022.
