‘Guitar’ strikes a chord on E. Houston

Director Amy Redford and Billy Leroy recently enjoyed the opening of her new movie, “The Guitar,” at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema on E. Houston St. Redford is the daughter of screen great Robert Redford. The movie stars Saffron Burrows and was written by Amos Poe. Set in the Village, it recounts “one woman’s spiritual, emotional and creative transformation.” Leroy has a cameo as, he put it, “a grumpy, heartless antiques dealer,” and scenes were shot in his Billy’s Antiques and Props tent, also on E. Houston St. “Satanic Verses” author Salman Rushdie was also at the screening.
