After 10 years in Caracas, Venezuela, Father John C. Massari, the new pastor at Our Lady of Pompei Church, is facing substantial challenges. The Carmine St. church needs a substantial renovation and is home to an increasing number of civic and social service organizations.
First order of business for the new priest is running the church’s traditional Holiday Fair this Sat., Dec. 4, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Father Demo Hall. The fair, which has no entrance fee, will include a wide range of antiques and crafts, special holiday gift items and a collection of handsome children’s books. In addition, there will be a silent auction, a raffle and the option of lunch.
