Although the HOWL! Festival of East Village Arts has been cancelled for this summer, the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival — which was incorporated into the first three annual HOWL! festivals — is going on with the show. The jazz festival will be held Sun. Aug. 27 in Tompkins Square Park from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wigstock, another featured attraction of HOWL!, doesn’t appear to be going solo this summer, though. Deputy Inspector Dennis De Quatro of the Ninth Precinct said while police will be providing a detail for the jazz festival, it appears Wigstock won’t be happening.
