Sing for Hope’s “Play Me I’m Yours” project placed 60 pianos around the city for two weeks and recently ended. But the Alliance for Downtown New York is making sure one of the pianos remains in the public realm. Alliance President Liz Berger said she thought the idea was so great, she just couldn’t let it die. “I haven’t taken piano lessons for 35 years, but I’ve downloaded sheet music and I’m going to learn to play on this piano,” she said. The piano is located in the pedestrian plaza on Broad Street between Exchange Place and Beaver Street and will remain there until the end of August.
