NYC Ferry captains train at SUNY Maritime simulation center

New captains for NYC Ferry are preparing for the service’s May 1 launch with training at a simulation center at SUNY Maritime College in the Bronx. Maritime staff take trainees through various weather and congestion scenarios as they navigate their virtual ferries through the New York Harbor. The ferry service, operated by Hornblower, will kick off with its Rockaway route and expand to serve South Brooklyn and Astoria this summer. (Credit: Corey Sipkin)
