Thompson St. rape
Police are seeking a suspect in the Nov. 5 rape of a woman in her Thompson St. lobby. The victim, 33, met the suspect on the street around 4:30 a.m. and went with him to a Duane Reade store on Broadway at West Houston St. where the suspect bought a six-pack of beer. They drank the beer on the street and then went to the victim’s building. When the victim refused to invite the suspect to her apartment, he raped her in the lobby and fled. The suspect was described as a black man with a purple birthmark on his face and wearing a dark jacket and a gray scarf, according to a Daily News item. The suspect used a condom, which he discarded at the scene, according to the item. The victim was treated at a nearby hospital and released. Women muggers
A Manhattan woman, 27, told police she was walking east on Grand St. near Mercer St. around 5:27 p.m. Thurs., Nov. 11, when two women asked her for directions. The victim obliged and walked on, but the two women came from behind, grabbed her bag and pepper-sprayed her in the eyes, police said. The victim lost her credit cards, her Oregon driver’s license, $60 in U.S. currency and an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency, police said.
Sullivan St. stabbing
Police arrested Julio Gutierrez, 38, on Wed., Nov. 10, and charged him with assault for stabbing a man in the left hand, arm and thigh in the middle of Sullivan St. near the intersection of Bleecker St. The victim, 23, told police he was walking south on Sullivan St. and saw a southbound black Audi going the wrong way on the northbound street. The driver, Gutierrez, stopped the car, got out and stabbed the victim, with whom he had had a dispute a short time earlier. Gutierrez got back into the car and drove off but was arrested a short time later. He was being held in lieu of $15,000 bail pending a Dec. 15 Supreme Court arraignment on charges of second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Got back her Balenciaga
A woman patron of Le Bain, the club at 444 W. 13th St. at Washington St. in the Meatpacking District, told a club employee at 3:15 a.m. Fri., Nov. 12, that someone had taken her bag from her table. At the same time, a security guard at the door stopped a man, J. Anthony Jimenez, 21, who was leaving the place with the bag under his coat. Police arrived and arrested the suspect for felony grand larceny. The woman, 33, recovered her $1,780 Balenciaga bag and her $500 makeup bag, $500 Goyard wallet, BlackBerry, ATM card, $180 in cash and her birth certificate.
Handbag dip
Police arrested a suspect who was seen dipping into and taking two credit cards out of the handbag of a woman patron of Bill’s Bar and Burger, 22 Ninth Ave. at W. 13th St. in the Meatpacking District, around 8:17 p.m. Sat., Nov. 13. Ricardo Reid, 39, was charged with felony grand larceny.
Rob food vendor
A food vendor in front of 75 Varick St. near Canal St. was filling a food order for two customers at 3:20 a.m. Fri., Nov. 12, when one of them grabbed him from behind, dragged him 10 feet from his cart and punched him in the face, police said. The accomplice opened the food cart cash drawer, grabbed the money and both fled east on Watts St. on foot. One of the thieves dropped his watch during the incident, police said. The vendor told police that one of the suspects had asked him for change of a $20 bill about 20 minutes before the robbery.
Seek bar brawler
Christian Fiorello, 34, who was arrested in connection with a 3:45 a.m. Tues., Nov. 9, assault in the Kenmare Lounge, 98 Kenmare St. near Centre St., was charged with assault at his Nov. 11 arraignment but failed to appear in court on Mon., Nov. 15, a spokesperson for the Manhattan district attorney said. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Fiorello was charged with hitting a man in the face with a bottle during an argument over a woman.
Truck burglary
A driver for ADT, the payroll-and-data service, parked his truck in front of 108 Wooster St. between Spring and Prince Sts. around 2 p.m. Fri., Nov. 12, and returned at 8:45 p.m. to find the side window broken and a laptop computer, a digital camera, a data tester and some tools missing, police said.
Crash injures three
A taxi that jumped a curb at 5:45 a.m. Sun., Nov. 14, knocked down three women standing outside Café Habana, 17 Prince St. at Elizabeth St., and crashed through the door of the place, police said. The victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital with minor injuries. There was no criminality involved and no summons was issued to the cab driver.
Bag gone
A woman, 26, who stopped for coffee at a Starbucks at 471 Broadway near Grand St., around 8 p.m. Sat., Nov. 13, lost her bag to a thief police said. She lost $200 in cash, an iPhone and credit cards, including one issued by a German bank.
Smashes window
The attendant at a Pay-O-Matic check-cashing service at 84 Eighth Ave., between 14th and 15th Sts., told police that a man who came in at 10:45 p.m. Sat., Nov. 13, and asked for his check to be cashed became angry when she told him she could not cash his check at that time. The irate customer stormed out and smashed the front glass window of the location, police said.
Ready-to-wear Ralph
A man walked into the Ralph Lauren boutique at 381 West Broadway between Broome and Spring Sts. at 12:16 p.m. Sun., Nov. 14, took a black jacket valued at $1,498 from display rack, put it on and fled, police said.
Lost at diner
A woman patron of Via dei Mille, the restaurant at 357 West Broadway between Broome and Grand Sts., put her bag on a chair at her table when she went to dance around 5 p.m. Sat., Nov. 13. She discovered a while later that the bag with her wallet with credit cards and $15 in cash was gone. The victim discovered when she got home that several unauthorized charges were made at East End Bar, Footlocker, International News and Aldo, the boot and shoe boutique.
