Village ‘valet’ bust

A 2009 BMW stolen from a garage at 425 W. 59th St. was later spotted in the Village. Video surveillance captured a man entering the garage and vehicle at 4 a.m. Wed., March 2. Garage employees leave keys on the dashboard so cars can be easily moved. Police said they saw the car on Washington and Perry Sts. and arrested the suspect at the scene. The vehicle’s owner said there was new damage on the right side and driver’s-side bumper.

Michael Smith, 37, was arrested for felony grand larceny.

 

Cards in the dark

An officer said he noticed a Nissan fail to signal while changing lanes when driving on Houston St. around 1:20 a.m. on Thurs., March 3. The officer also observed the vehicle’s headlights and taillights were not on. After stopping the car, the officer saw a joint on the center console. After searching the vehicle, he also found 11 forged credit cards.

Police arrested Bryan S. Jean, 23, for felony criminal possession of a forged instrument.

 

The pain at Jane

Police said that around 4 a.m. March 5, a man was talking with friends in front of the Jane Hotel, at 113 Jane St., when another man punched him in the face. The victim experienced minor bruising and refused medical attention.

Philippe Rascol, 22, was arrested for misdemeanor assault.

Supreme slash suspect

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man involved in a slashing at Supreme in Soho on Thurs., Feb. 18, at 2 p.m.
Police said a man, 21, was leaving the clothing store, at 274 Lafayette St., when two men approached him and began arguing with him. One cut the victim on the right side of his face with an unknown object, and the two suspects then fled.

The victim was removed to Downtown Hospital, treated and released.
