On Saturday, the New York State Department of Transportation will temporarily dead-end Rector St. at Route 9A/West St. for about six weeks.
Carlisle St., which has been closed for similar work, will simultaneously be reopened to its original traffic pattern at this time.
All motorists wishing to access Washington St. from northbound Route9A/West St. are advised to use Albany St. In order to maintain access to the buildings on Rector St. between Washington and West Sts., the dead-end block will operate as a two-way street.
Pedestrian access to West St. will be maintained on Rector St. at all times.
This closure is necessary to create a work zone for the installation of a ConEd manhole in the center of the roadway and crosswalk construction in the north/south direction.
