On Sun., Sept. 16, Richard Fredette, 57, of 381 E. 10th St., climbed the globe sculpture at Columbus Circle while wearing rollerblades, sat on top, ate an orange and tossed confetti-like fliers promoting an up-and-coming rock band, Black Lips, into the air. After 20 minutes, he climbed down and surrendered to police. He was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing. Below, passersby pointed out Fredette.
