For the first time in six years, the Downtown United Soccer Club Soccer Moms made it to a playoff game. Competing in the Urban Soccer League playoffs at Borough of Manhattan Community College on Sunday, the DUSC moms lost to Maroon 5 in the semifinals by a score of 5 to 4. There was about 20 years age difference between the players on the opposing teams, the DUSC squad being the more senior, with most of them in their 40s. The DUSC team’s coach, Manny D’Almeida (front row, right), is 70 years old.
