The Villager’s Sept. 24, 1964, issue reported that the “Borough President’s Planning Board No. 2 got off to a brisk fall start last Thursday” in a meeting at New York University’s Loeb Student Center. The board heard from Henry J. Stern, of the Borough President’s Office, about an upcoming City Planning hearing on University Village (Silver Towers and 504 LaGuardia Place), “the New York University middle-income housing project which is to be available to tenants from the community.”
