Last Thursday, on the first day of summer, a vacant building under renovation at 91 Second Ave. experienced a partial roof collapse. No one was injured. Police and firefighters closed off part of Second Ave. while they investigated the accident. George Gershwin reportedly lived in the building as a boy.
