In photo at left, Arthur Makar, Caring Community’s C.E.O., posed with rock legend Patti Smith, who also made the scene at the fete. Other honorees included Dr. William Cook, an oncologist at St. Vincent’s Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Greenwich Village-Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, which received a new Corporate Partner Award. Steve Ross, Lee Roy Reams and Richard Skipper as Carol Channing provided a musical tribute to Goodman.
