Trees for the World Trade Center memorial plaza were moved to Halka Nursery in Millstone Township, N.J. in June, right. The first part of the plaza is expected to open before Sept. 11, 2009. The memorial will also include two sunken reflecting pools at the footprints of the original tower. The Memorial Museum pavilion will have a section of the original Twin Tower façade, also called the trident, below. Officials with the memorial and the Port Authority are also working on a traffic plan for the area. As many as 7 million tourists a year are expected to visit the memorial in the early years, but a garage for tour buses is currently scheduled to open two years after the plaza.
