Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly assaulted a senior as she walked through a busy Manhattan transit hub on Monday.

According to law enforcement sources, the 70-year-old victim was traversing a subway pathway toward the 6 train near Lexington Avenue and E. 53rd Street on the Upper East Side at around 10:30 a.m. on May 12 when the brutish perp approached her. Without warning, he pushed her forcefully into a wall, causing her to hit her head and fall to the ground, police said.

It is unclear right now if the suspect said anything before he went through with the unprovoked attack.

Officers from the 19th Precinct and Transit District 4 responded to the scene along with EMS, who brought the victim to NYU Langone Medical Center for injuries to her head and neck.

Police on Tuesday released photos of the suspect, who remains at large. He is described as being 6 feet tall and 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, black sneakers and glassses.

So far, no arrests have been made, but the investigation remains ongoing.

This is the second time in May that a senior was attacked in the city’s public transit system, with buses being a hotbed for crime this month. A 70-year-old straphanger was struck in the face by a suspect following a verbal dispute on board a B15 MTA bus in Brooklyn on May 4. The victim was treated at the scene for injuries to his face, but the suspect was able to get away and remains at large.

Meanwhile, police are still searching for suspect who allegedly stabbed a 41-year-old man to death following an argument on an MTA J90 shuttle bus in Brooklyn on May 11. Police are still searching for the male suspect, who was last seen wearing a gray sweatsuit.
