A woman was struck and killed by an oncoming 7 train at Grand Central Terminal during the Monday morning commute, police said.
According to law enforcement sources, FDNY members and officers from the Midtown South Precinct responded to a call of a person struck by a train at 42nd Street and 3rd Avenue at around 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 25.
At the location, officers found a 58-year-old Asian woman struck by a 7 train. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unclear how the woman was hit, but police said no criminality is suspected at this time.
7 train service was suspended in both directions immediately following the incident. According to PIX 11, the MTA said some 7 trains headed to 34th Street-Hudson Yards are terminating at 74th Street-Broadway.
As of 8 a.m., the 7 train was making regular stops but still experiencing delays.
