Brooklyn detectives are busy looking for the shooting suspect who seriously wounded a woman inside an apartment building on Tuesday.
Law enforcement sources said the shooting happened just after 8:45 a.m. on Aug. 26 at 399 St. John’s Place in Prospect Heights.
Officers from the 77th Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about the shooting, found the victim, a 49-year-old woman, with multiple gunshot wounds to her leg and arm.
EMS rushed her to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
During the investigation, police received information that the suspect had briefly barricaded himself inside a third-floor apartment. However, the perpetrator was not located after cops forced their way inside the residence, and followed up with a door-to-door search of the building.
Based on a preliminary investigation, police are looking into whether the shooting was sparked by a dispute over noise inside the building.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.
