Brooklyn detectives are searching for the gunman who opened fire on two men in Bushwick Monday night, killing one and injuring another, police said.

The shooting occurred around 10:01 p.m. in front of 1233 Putnam Ave., within the 83rd Precinct. Responding officers found a 39-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and a 63-year-old man shot in the right eye on the residential street, cops said.

Both victims were taken by EMS to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where the 39-year-old, identified as Ramel Fisher of East Flatbush, was pronounced dead. The 63-year-old man is in stable condition after undergoing emergency surgery.

The relationship between the two victims was not immediately clear, according to police. However, sources familiar with the investigation report that both men are known to police. In 1985, Fisher was arrested on drug and murder charges while the older of the pair has been cuffed on drug and assault charges. Cops say that they have been unable to locate any witnesses to the shooting, leaving them without a description of the perpetrator. However, authorities were able to recover several shell casings at the scene.

No arrests have been made, and police have not released a motive or description of the suspect as of Tuesday evening. The investigation remains ongoing, cops added.

The killing of Fisher marks the sixth homicide and seventh shooting incident in the 83rd Precinct so far this year, according to the latest police department data. However, citywide, the first five months of 2025 saw the lowest number of shootings and murders in recorded history.
