Man fatally stabbed in the back at Harlem apartment building: cops

Cops in Harlem are looking for four suspects after a man was fatally stabbed at a Harlem apartment building early on Saturday morning, police reported.

The bloodshed occurred inside 2640 Frederick Douglass Blvd. at about 5:27 a.m. on May 3.

Officers from the 32nd Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about an assault in progress, found a 33-year-old man stabbed multiple times in the back.

Based on a preliminary investigation, police believe the victim had been attacked following a verbal dispute with four male suspects. The reasons for the dispute were not immediately known.

EMS rushed him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police have not yet released his identity, pending family notification.

So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.

Police sources said one of the suspects was seen wearing a red hat and denim clothing; a second perpetrator wore all-black clothing; the third individual wore a blue hat, white shirt and jeans; and the fourth culprit wore a black t-shirt and blue jeans.

Through April 27, the 32nd Precinct reported three homicides year-to-date, equal to the number recorded at the same point last year.
