Police in upper Manhattan are looking for the suspect who shot and wounded a teenager on Friday afternoon.

The NYPD released video of the suspect behind the brazen daytime shooting, which occurred at about 2:28 p.m. on April 4 in front of an apartment building at 639 West 204th St. in Inwood.

Officers from the 34th Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about the incident, found the victim, a 19-year-old man, with a bullet wound to his right leg.

According to law enforcement sources, the victim told police that he heard gunfire while walking through the area and began running away. Seconds later, he felt pain and realized that he had been struck by a bullet.

EMS rushed the victim to Metropolitan Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown and under investigation. Police sources said it is unclear whether the victim was the intended target.

During the preliminary investigation, police learned that the suspect in the shooting had been seen discharging the firearm at the location, then fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.

Police later obtained security camera footage in the vicinity of the shooting, showing the suspect walking near a store while carrying a water bottle. He is pictured wearing eyeglasses, a gray hat, a black hooded sweatshirt, a gray vest, black pants and black sneakers.
