Here we are again, staring down the barrel of a long offseason with no football.

Sure, America’s most popular sport will go on hiatus, but that doesn’t mean the action will stop.

At the end of the month, the top collegiate talents will descend upon Indianapolis for the NFL Combine, giving professional scouts and executives an up-close look at the future of the league.

It serves as a primer for the 2020 NFL Draft, which will be held in the Raiders’ new home city, Las Vegas, from Apr. 23-25.

The draft offers the league’s basement dwellers a glimmer of hope looking ahead as they have the opportunity to acquire a franchise-altering talent that could reverse the fortunes of an organization.

Both New York City-area teams, the Giants and Jets, have first-round selections in the top-11 as the Big Apple hasn’t experienced playoff football in three years.

The right selections could help stop that drought.
