The New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders matchup in Week 17 features a pair of franchises looking to snap an extended losing streaks. While NFL teams are in the business of winning games, a victory doesn’t do a lot for either of these franchises with two games remaining in 2025. Both squads have their eyes fixed on the 2026 NFL Draft where they will get the opportunity to add a high-end talent to their squads.
New York has lost nine consecutive contests, but six of those contests were one-score final scores. The Giants have hung tough against some of the best teams in the sport, such as New England and Green Bay. Still, the injuries issues this season have been too much adversity for Big Blue to overcome during the 2025 campaign.
Las Vegas arrives with a 10-game losing skid, dating back a Week 6 win over the Tennessee Titans. While rookie running back Ashton Jeanty has posted a pair of 100+ rushing yard outings this season, it has been an uneven rushing experience for the young runner. The 22-year-old rusher had his best career outing in Week 16 against the Houston Texans with 188 combined yards in the loss. New York must slow down the Vegas running attack to find a road win in Week 17.
Week 17: New York Giants (2-13) @ Las Vegas Raiders (2-13)
Kick Off: 4:05 p.m. ET (Sun., 12/28/25)
Location: Allegiant Stadium (Las Vegas, Nevada)
The Giants arrive with records against the betting lines that are all over the place. New York holds a losing record against the spread (6-9) and the moneyline (2-13), while posting a winning mark versus the over-under (9-6) in 2025. Vegas arrives in Week 17 with a strikingly similar record against the betting lines this season: 6-9 marks against the spread and over-under, while an identical 2-13 record versus the moneyline during the 2025 campaign.

New York is considered a slight road favorite with a 54% chance of victory on Sunday, per ESPN.
Best bet: Tyrone Tracy Jr. 70+ rushing yards
Tyrone Tracy Jr. has reached at least the 60+ rushing yard plateau four out of the last five weeks, including against likely playoff bound clubs like the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings. The 26-year-old running back has collected 575 yards on 144 carries this season, an average of 4.0 yards per carry as the talent around him slowly disappeared to injuries over the course of the 2025 campaign.

Las Vegas brings a middle-of-the-road rushing defensive ranking into the matchup against New York. The Raiders are allowing an average of 116.5 yards per game this season, so there should be a few opportunities for Tracy Jr. to spring a run in the desert.

There haven’t been too many contests this season where the Giants enter the contest as the favorite to win. But that changes on the road in Week 17 where New York visits Allegiant Stadium with a chance to secure a third win of the NFL season. It would be a massive victory for interim head coach Mike Kafka as he guides Big Blue through the next two weeks of football action.
