So much for the NFL’s concept of competitive balance. After having one of the worst records in the league last season at 3-14, the Giants have the toughest schedule in 2025, making a step forward all the more difficult for Brian Daboll and Co.

If the schedule was softer, maybe this is a team that flirts with .500, but an unforgiving slate likely eliminates any hope of that.

Here, we go game by game in an attempt to decipher what Big Blue’s record will be when the dust settles.

2025 Giants game-by-game prediction

Week 1 at Commanders (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX): Loss

Terry McLaurin is back after a contract dispute, and the Commanders, who made the NFC Championship Game last season, are ready to roll. While they aren’t sneaking up on anyone this season, they still are head and shoulders above the Giants.

Week 2 at Cowboys (Sept. 14, 1 p.m., FOX): Win

The Cowboys are a mess. They traded their best player, Micah Parsons, to the Green Bay Packers, and that will resonate within their locker room. I see them taking the Giants too lightly, considering they’ve beaten them eight times in a row. That ends in Week 2 with an upset result.

Week 3 vs. Chiefs (Sept. 21, 8:20 p.m., NBC): Loss

The Giants get to come home for the first time in 2025 to face the defending AFC Champions. Talk about a rude welcome.

Week 4 vs. Chargers (Sept. 28, 1 p.m., CBS): Loss

I don’t see the Giants’ offense keeping up with Justin Herbert, which could perhaps raise the first questions about giving Jaxson Dart a look under center.

Week 5 @ Saints (Oct. 5, 1 p.m., CBS): Win

New Orleans’ quarterback situation is not very inspiring, whether it be Spencer Rattler or Tyler Shough. It presents a prime opportunity for the pass rush to have a banner day.

Week 6 vs. Eagles (Oct. 9, 8:15 p.m., Prime Video): Loss

The Giants are not beating the Eagles any time soon unless this becomes a trap game for the defending champs. They are simply too good.

Week 7 @ Broncos (Oct. 19, 4:05 p.m., CBS): Loss

If Bo Nix takes another step forward this season, the Broncos could be legitimate contenders in the AFC. Denver is not a hospitable place to play, even in October. The Broncos should cruise here.

Week 8 @ Eagles (Oct. 26, 1 p.m., FOX): Loss

Facing the Eagles twice in three weeks is just cruel from a Giants perspective.

Week 9 vs. 49ers (Nov. 2, 1 p.m., CBS): Loss

If Christian McCaffrey and Brock Purdy are healthy, the 49ers are still a force to be reckoned with in the NFC. They also have ex-Jets coach Robert Saleh back as the defensive coordinator to restore their perch atop the West.

Week 10 @ Bears (Nov. 9, 1 p.m., FOX): Win

Death, taxes, and the Bears being a mess. Quarterback Caleb Williams continues to struggle in Ben Johnson’s system, and the red flags are already being raised in Chicago.

Week 11 vs. Packers (Nov. 16, 1 p.m., FOX): Loss

The Packers were already a playoff team, but they got that much better when they hooked up with Dallas to pick up Parsons.

Week 12 @ Lions (Nov. 23, 1 p.m., FOX): Loss

The Lions are going to be good, but will they be the same unstoppable force from last year? The coaching staff took a hit with defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn taking the Jets head-coach job and Johnson, the offensive coordinator, going to Chicago. They’re still a lot better than the Giants, though.

Week 13 @ Patriots (Dec. 1, 8:15 p.m., ESPN): Win

Can Mike Vrabel turn the Patriots around? Is Drake Maye the answer under center? New England is trying to get out of the doldrums just like the Giants. This will be a close one, but the Patriots’ shaky offensive line will be exploited by New York in this one.

Week 14: Bye

Week 15 vs. Commanders (Dec. 14, 1 p.m., FOX): Loss

How much fun would a Dart vs. Daniels quarterback matchup be? It could happen. And if the Giants’ QB1, maybe the second half of this season looks a lot different — not to put any pressure on him.

Week 16 vs. Vikings (Dec. 21, 1 p.m., FOX): Loss

The NFC North is a gauntlet, and the Vikings are coming off a 14-3 season with Sam Darnold as their quarterback. Now, it’s JJ McCarthy’s turn, the man they believe is the franchise quarterback of the future. Considering they’ll be battling the Lions and Packers all season, the Giants could be facing a desperate Minnesota side in Week 16.

Week 17 @ Raiders (TBD): Win

The Raiders are on the cusp of playoff contention with Geno Smith at the helm, but this screams trap game, and the Giants pull off a late upset.

Week 18 vs. Cowboys (TBD): Loss

Part of me believes that the Giants could pull off a season sweep of the Cowboys, especially with Week 18 coming at home. But Dallas is still a team that will be around .500 and is still a step ahead of Big Blue.

Final record: 5-12
