Odell Beckham Jr. planning to visit Giants following Thanksgiving: Report

Giants fans may have something to be thankful for if a planned visit from Odell Beckham Jr. goes well.

The free-agent receiver is planning visits to the Giants and Dallas Cowboys, according to NFL Network. The official visits will come following the Thanksgiving holiday and opens the door for the former Giant draft pick to return to where it all started.

The Cowboys have not hidden their desire to bring Beckham Jr. to the Lone Star State, but a Big Apple reunion could help rewrite the wideouts story in New York and give the Giants a much-needed boost at the receiver position. The Giants have been strapped for impact receivers this season after injuries have hurt their depth at the position.

Beckham Jr. would be able to provide the same spark that he did last year for the Los Angeles Rams on the way to their Super Bowl win. Darius Slayton has stepped up to carry a bulk of the workload reception-wise and Beckham Jr. would give quarterback Daniel Jones a second option that could help open up their passing game.

The Giants’ problem continues to be a very stringent cap situation that played into the quiet trade deadline they had.

OBJ is recovering from a knee reconstruction after he re-tore his ACL during the Super Bowl and he is expected to be able to pass a physical by the time he makes his visits to the Giants and Cowboys. As of now, the two stops are the only one that he has planned, according to the NFL Network report.

Beckham Jr. did visit the Giants’ facility in October, which stirred a buzz that the wideout could be considering a return to New York. However, the visit was just for him to check in with Sterling Shepard after he suffered a season-ending ACL tear. Beckham Jr. did not meet with any members of the team’s front office during that visit.

Several members of the current team were at OBJ’s birthday party earlier this month.

“He knows how I feel. He knows how we feel about him,” Saquon Barkley said earlier this month.”He’s Odell. When he’s healthy he’s one of the best players in the league. why wouldn’t anyone want him. … Personally I think it would be a great story for him to comeback to a place where he was at before and continue to help build success.”

The Giants, Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers are all in the mix for Beckham Jr.’s services, according to ESPN
