Duo sought for stealing a teen’s phone while impersonating police at Brooklyn subway station

The NYPD is looking for a pair of crooks who stole a teenager’s phone while pretending to be police at a Brooklyn subway station.

According to authorities, at 9 p.m. on April 26 a 15-year-old boy jumped the turnstile at the 53rd Street subway station. Two unknown men then approached the teen and began to question him, and the teen perceived that the two were law enforcement.

The suspects searched the victim’s pockets and took an undetermined amount of cash, headphones and a cellphone. The suspects gave back the cash and headphones, but made him unlock the phone. The victim complied and the suspects then fled the station with the phone, valued at $1,300, to parts unknown. There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.
