Few things say summer in the city like an exciting outdoor concert in the park. Now, to help ring in summer, the City Parks Foundation is back with its ever-popular SummerStage, a series of outdoor concerts that take place in the scenic ambience of the city’s parks.
Most concerts are free, but tickets are available for a handful of shows throughout the season.
The foundation will host more than 70 concerts in more than a dozen NYC parks this season for music lovers of all tastes to enjoy. Genres include salsa, jazz, indie-rock, hip-hop, opera, pop and so much more.
Now in its 39th season, the series kicks off with a free concert in Central Park on June 4, starring Grammy-winning jazz bassist and composer Marcus Miller, known for his work with Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and other legends. He will be joined by other performers for a fun, energetic party…likely setting the tone for more exciting concerts to come throughout the season.
