A New Jersey teen was arrested for allegedly stabbing a man to death in the Bronx last month.

Following an ongoing investigation, police arrested 19-year-old Edwin Portes, of Elizabeth, NJ, on Jan. 17. He was charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

According to police, at 2:35 a.m. on Dec. 21, 2019, it is believed that Portes allegedly approached 20-year-old Giovanny Pimentel inside of 2170 University Ave. and stabbed him once in the chest with a knife. Pimentel was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he ultimately died of his injuries on Dec. 27, 2019.

At this time, it is not clear what the motive is behind the attack.
