Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run along a Bronx street

A pedestrian was killed in a hit and run on a residential Parkchester street yesterday, the NYPD has confirmed.

The man was crossing east to west in front of 1516 Beach Avenue when a southbound, New Jersey plated RAV4 SUV fatally struck the pedestrian in the middle of the road at about 9:30 p.m. and then fled quickly after in their car.

EMS personnel discovered the man unconscious and lying in the roadway with reported trauma to his head, they moved him to Jacobi Hospital where he was pronounced dead later in the night.

Police say that the car’s color is either blue or silver and no arrest has been made in this ongoing investigation yet.
