A 41-year-old Brooklyn cyclist was struck and killed by a flatbed truck in East Williamsburg yesterday.

Pedro Lopez was riding nearby of 305 Vandervoort Avenue at about 2:39 p.m. yesterday when a 54-year-old man driving a 2005 Isuzu flatbed truck northbound made a u-turn and struck Lopez to the road, according to the NYPD Collision Investigation Squad.

The driver then collided with a parked car which cause additional damage to other parked cars and took a nearby curb, police also confirmed.

Officers within the 90th precinct discovered Lopez “unconscious and unresponsive with severe head and body injuries,” before he was transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Woodhull and pronounced dead, law enforcement sources said.

Lopez lived nearby on Troutman Street, meanwhile the investigation is ongoing and the driver has not been charged at this time.
