Dominique Ansel's Cookie Shots have received a hugely positive response

Dominique Ansel's Chocolate-Chip Cookie Milk Shots are on a trajectory not unlike that of Ansel's first culinary masterpiece, the Cronut. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, just like that of the Cronut. There have been lines outside the bakery, like the Cronut. What's next? A trademark for the Cookie Shot?

That might be a good idea, as copy-cats have already started popping up.

This in from Nell Casey of Gothamist:

"These cookie shots are, in short, absolutely wonderful. Let me also say that I actually don't like sweets; bring me a plate of nachos and get that dessert stuff out of my face. But there's something about a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie that just gets me..."

"The #cookieshot was amazing!! A glorious creation indeed..."

Check out that well of opportunity...

GrubStreet's Sierra Tishgart was a little less overtly pumped, but a big fan nonetheless. Oh, and her story is told with GIF's as well as words!

"The cookie is soft and delicious, and somehow still sturdy enough to support the vanilla-infused milk. It's a perfect cookie."

"OTHERWORLDLY IN THEIR GOODNESS"

"You would be correct in assuming these were everything and more." No doubt the cookie shot is everything! But more, too? Damn.

Josh Duboff of Vanity Fair called the Cookie Shot the "Jennifer Lawrence of baked goods":

..."the shots are . . . OTHERWORLDLY IN THEIR GOODNESS."

"CHEERS TO THIS WONDERFULNESS!! #isthisreallife"

Yes, it is real life.

Niko Triantafillou in Serious Eats says his benchmark for fresh chocolate chip cookies is high.

"Dominique Ansel has nailed it."

"Chocolate chip cookie shots are the only way to eat cookies and milk now."

If you take this guy at his word, he's saying he won't eat a cookie with a glass of milk ever again.

Blogger Fooditka brought her childhood into her description of eating the Cookie Shot:

"Incredibly rich and chocolatey on the inside, the outside texture was slightly crunchy and wonderfully nostalgic - somehow reminding me of my childhood slumber parties with my girlfriends."

"Dominique Ansel did it again!!!"

This 'grammer was very excited and congratulatory, wouldn't you say?

Hailey Eber of the NY Post said the Cookie Shot "more than justifies all the hype.

"...it’s remarkably soft inside, with just the right level of buttery-brown-sugary crunch on the outside. The melted Valrhona chocolate flakes are evenly and amply distributed throughout. Ansel has long served a traditional chocolate chip cookie at the bakery, and his mastery of the form is evident."
