A pregnant woman was apparently shoved from a car and found dead on a Red Hook, Brooklyn street Wednesday morning, and police are holding a man for questioning, law enforcement sources said.
The woman, 27, was found lying unresponsive on Lorraine Street, outside the Red Hook Houses, just after 2 a.m. on Jan. 29, and pronounced dead at NewYork-Presbyterian Methodist Hospital, according to cops. It was unclear whether she was dead before or after the shove. It was not known the cause of death.
It is unclear whether the man being held will be charged at this time. Police from the Deputy Commissioner for Public Information would provide no further information on this story.
Residents of the Red Hook Houses were shocked by the incident. However, nobody who lived in those buildings said they knew the woman as no identification has been released.
The Medical Examiner’s will determine the cause of death.
