“‘UnBind: Figuring The Layers of Being’ is a figurative group exhibition that reflects upon the complexities of human identity and humanness. Nine artists working from the female perspective consider how our histories, experiences, biases, traumas or triumphs, express our conscious or unconscious sense of being,” said Sissons. “Within this consideration, the artworks relating to Unbind are diverse in response and medium, and the resulting collection contains art that is iconic, personal, representational or uniquely individual.”

An artist talk will be held at the NYSS @ DUMBO Project Space, located at 20 Jay St. Suite 307, will be held on July 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. during the show’s closing reception.
