Entertainment 'Mean Girls' musical: Who we'd cast as Regina George, more By Keira Alexander and Meghan Giannotta Updated March 22, 2017 9:37 AM Print Share fbShare Tweet Email A musical adaptation of a millennial film as memorable as "Mean Girls" deserves a cast Gretchen Wieners herself would define as "so fetch." "Mean Girls" is slated to make its big stage debut at Washington D.C.'s National Theatre on Oct. 31. Creator Tina Fey has adapted the script of her 2004 film, which, of course, starred Lindsay Lohan. Here's hoping Fey left in the classic "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Kevin G" talent show numbers. If we were in charge of casting Fey's musical masterpiece, here's who we'd pick to play Regina George, Cady Heron and the rest of the group. Janis: Krysten Ritter Photo Credit: Getty Images for IFP / Matthew Eisman Her "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23" days would come in handy playing the jaded Janis. Damian: Tituss Burgess Photo Credit: Getty Images / Astrid Stawiarz No doubt Burgess has the perfect pink shirt for Cady to borrow on Wednesdays. Regina: Taylor Swift Photo Credit: AFP / Getty Images / Adrian Sanchez-Gonzalez Always looking to expand her empire, it's time for Tay to tread the boards. Plus, she already knows a thing or two about elite #squadgoals. Mrs. George: Kristen Chenoweth Photo Credit: AFP / Getty Images / Frederic J. Brown The Broadway icon would make a fantastic "bad mom." Repeat after us: "I'm not a regular mom. I'm a cool mom." Gretchen: Jasmine Cephas Jones Photo Credit: Getty Images for The Women's Forum of New York / Cindy Ord No longer playing Peggy in "Hamilton," we've found her a new girl group. Ms. Norbury: Tina Fey Photo Credit: Getty Images for Tribeca Film Festival / Theo Wargo Irreplaceable. Aaron: Hunter Parish Photo Credit: Getty Images for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week / Fernando Leon As a universal Broadway crush, Parish would fit into the role just fine.
