The actress Shannen Doherty took to social media on Tuesday to document a very personal moment.
In the first of a series of seven black and white photographs posted on Instagram, she wrote “Cupcake pan, chocolates and a razor…. Stay tuned” next to a picture of the items. The hashtag #cancersucks was also tagged.
The following six pictures show the process she went through to cut off her hair. In August 2015, a lawsuit filed by Doherty against her accounting firm revealed the actress was fighting breast cancer, Newsday reported. While it isn’t clear exactly when the photos were taken, Doherty’s friend Anne Kortright-Shilstat cross-posted a picture from Doherty’s account of the two of them on her Instagram with the caption “I couldn’t be prouder of you today.”
Doherty, 45, is best known for playing the iconic role of Brenda Walsh in the 1990s hit show “Beverly Hills 90210.”
