A mind-bending display of death-defying acts blended with live music and burlesque is returning to Brooklyn this summer.

On Aug. 23, Brooklyn musician and entertainer Miss Cherry Delight will bring her annual show, “Cherry Hellodies,” back to Coney Island USA. For its sixth iteration, the show will don the name “Cherry Hellodies 666.”

“Imagine a show filled with sideshow and burlesque superstars. The burlesque performers are people who have a reputation for really pushing the envelope, and the sideshow performers are people who are really putting their lives on the line with truly death-defying feats,” Delight told amNewYork. “Now imagine that there’s no canned music, no recorded music at all, but instead, it is a live rock band accompanying every act in the show for the entire show.”

Like past Hellodies festivities, Cherry Hellodies 666 will showcase aerial acts, acrobatics, boundary-pushing burlesque, comedy and music. The show will include live music from Delight herself as the soundtrack for the performers and there will be a nod to the late Ozzy Osbourne.

This year’s lineup includes Tigger!, Pearls Daily, Mr. Gorgeous, Audrey Love, Queensiñerra, Alaska The Lostboy, Anna Monoxide, Faux Pas Le Fae, Aurora North, and Obsidian Absurd (Miss Coney Island 2025). Delight’s five-piece band will also feature Melinda “Melfire” Porto on backing vocals.

“I’m always so proud to work with musicians of this caliber. There’s nowhere I feel more at home or at ease on that stage,” said Delight. “As soon as I step on that stage, I feel so relaxed and so happy. It’s happier than I could ever be anywhere else.”

For Delight, having the show at Coney Island is key to keeping the show as its most authentic self. Delight cited the casino proposal as a main driver to keep the show alive in Coney Island, with part of the proceeds from the show going to support Coney Island USA.

“I’m really proud to be putting on a show like this in Coney Island. People always ask me, oh, why don’t you do it here or here or bring it to this city. I will always do this show in Coney Island because Coney Island needs our help right now. Our theater is in danger with all of the threats coming in about this possible casino thing happening. I don’t know what’s gonna happen, but there’s a possibility that we’re not gonna have Coney Island USA for much longer,” said Delight.

Those who attend Cherry Hellodies 666 can participate in raffles where they can win an assortment of high-value prizes, including the chance to win a photo from the collection of the esteemed rock photographer Len De Lessio.

“Honestly, you could win something like that, that’s worth thousands of dollars, for $20 in a raffle,” said Delight.

Delight says that those who attend can expect an exciting time that truly can’t be replicated in another show.

“This show is my pride and joy. Much like any of the music I make, this is an experience that we create. We like to keep people guessing. We like to have lots of surprises throughout,” said Delight.

Tickets for Cherry Hellodies 666 start at $25 in advance and $30 at the door. This is an 18+ show. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.coneyisland.com/event/cherry-hellodies082325.
