New York Sports Clubs class inspired by first responders

If you ever wondered if you have what it takes to be one of NYC’s Bravest or Finest, this class is for you.

New York Sports Clubs launched a new class last week that was developed with local first responders.

The Bravest&Finest workout features exercises and challenges found on the FDNY and NYPD physical exams, using training dummies, battle ropes, sand bags and more.

Classes are led by firefighter Joe Schiraldo and officer Mike Counihan (behind the Instagram account @nodonutshere), as well as NYSC trainer Alyssa Exposito.

The 60-minute class is currently offered at two NYSC locations, and it will likely expand to more.

Find it at NYSC Crowne Plaza (1601 Broadway, 212-977-8880) Mondays at 6:30 p.m. and at NYSC Glendale-The Shops at Atlas Park (80-00 Cooper Ave., Glendale, 718-326-2228) Mondays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 9:30 a.m.

The class is free to both members and non-members and is on a first-come, first-served basis. For more info, visit mysportsclubs.com/bravestfinest.
