Cops arrested a man that they believe shot and killed a Bronx bodega worker last week.

According to police, at 6:36 p.m. on Feb. 14  officers responded to a 911 call regarding a man shot inside the B&A Grocery Deli at the corner of Brook Avenue and East 137th Street in Mott Haven. Upon their arrival, officers found 34-year-old Yahya Almuntser with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.

Published reports indicate that Almuntser, who was an employee at the bodega, was behind the counter when the shooter, believed to be 33-year-old Leonard Nieves, walked into the shop and started firing multiple shots. There was no apparent sign of a robbery attempt, and no words were exchanged, and the shooter fled the scene before police arrived.

EMS rushed Almuntser to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

On Feb. 19, the NYPD arrested Nieves and charged him with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
