Cops are looking for a trio who are said to be behind a series of armed robberies in the Bronx.
The robbery spree began on Dec. 22, 2019. At 12:15 a.m. that day, a 55-year-old man was walking home from the train station down East 224th Street near White Plains Road when he was approached by three unknown men. One of the men simulated a firearm while other two punched and kicked him to the ground.
The suspects took the victim’s cellphone and then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim suffered a laceration to his forehead and was taken to Montefiore Medical Center in stable condition.
The crooks struck again on Dec. 28, 2019. At 5:30 a.m. that day, the suspects approached a 56-year-old man, who was calling for a taxi on White Plains Road near East 215th Street. The suspects proceeded to punch and kick the victim multiple times.
The thieves took the victim’s cellphone and fled the scene. The victim, who suffered a laceration to the back of his head, was taken to Montefiore Medical Center in stable condition.
The robbery pattern continued into the New Year – just past midnight on Jan. 6, 2020, the crooks approached a 31-year-old man while he was walking to work on East 222nd Street near Carpenter Avenue. The suspects pulled out a gun and demanded the victim’s property.
The victim complied and handed over his cellphone and $100 in cash. The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
Finally, at 11:40 p.m. on Jan. 19, the suspects entered a bodega located at 627 East 222nd St. and pulled out a fire arm. They proceeded to tie up the 39-year-old employee with a cable and left him behind the counter before taking off with his wallet, $850 from the register and cigarettes.
