A 24-year-old man was shot and wounded outside a deli in Brooklyn Sunday afternoon, police officials said.
The victim, not immediately identified, was shot in the right arm by an unidentified assailant at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday in front of 479 Nostrand Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
He was rushed by EMS to Kings County Hospital, where he was reported in stable condition.
Police on the scene were looking for a male black with a red hoodie, officers said. Detectives were looking at video from the A&Z Deli where workers stood outside talking to police.
One deli worker, who declined to be identified, said the neighborhood has been relatively peaceful, but he said, “sometimes, it’s just like this.” The workers say they didn’t hear the shooting, only saw the victim after he was shot.
“Just when you think everything is getting better, this reminds you there is still things that have to happen,” said a worker who did not want to be identified.
