Police released on Friday video footage of a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing on the J train in Brooklyn earlier this week.

Law enforcement sources said the bloodshed occurred at about 2:33 a.m. on April 7 on board a Queens-bound J train near the Lorimer Street station in Williamsburg.

Sources familiar with the investigation said the suspect got into an argument with the victim, an unidentified man. The words turned physical when the attacker pulled out a knife and repeatedly stabbed the victim in the back and neck.

Both the victim and the suspect remained on board the J train until the Flushing Avenue stop, where the murderer departed.

Officers from the 90th Precinct and NYPD Transit District 33 responded to a 911 call about the incident. Paramedics rushed the victim to nearby Woodhull Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have withheld the victim’s identity, pending family notification.

The video shows the suspect walking along a Brooklyn street about 20 minutes after the murder took place. The NYPD did not provide a specific description.

The individual is shown on camera wearing a black baseball cap, a white Nirvana sweatshirt and black pants, with a surgical mask draped around his neck. He’s also shown carrying what appears to be a black jacket.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA). You can also submit tips online at nypdcrimestoppers.com or on Twitter @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
