A married couple are dead in what police believe is a murder suicide while sitting inside a vehicle on a deserted Brooklyn street Monday morning, police said.

The two people, not identified at this time, were found slumped over in the front seats of a 2019 BMW SUV parked on Louisiana Avenue not far from Twin Pines Lane near the Spring Creek Preserve.

Cops said the shooting occurred just after 9:20 a.m. on March 9. Spring Creek security responded first and found the two people shot, with all four windows of the car blown out by the bullets. Arriving police from the 75th Precinct broke the windows to get inside the vehicle so that EMS could render aid, police say.

Responding paramedics rushed the victims to Brookdale University Medical Center. The woman, age 39, suffered four gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead. The man, 49, was listed in critical condition with a single gunshot wound to his head, but later died of his wound.

The victims were identified tonight as husband and wife, Petula and her husband Andre Myrtil of 286 Rockaway Avenue. There was no motive for this shooting at this time by police.

Police officials reported that detectives discovered a firearm used in the shooting inside the vehicle. The preliminary investigation indicated that the shooting may have been related to a domestic incident; domestic shootings accounted for about 40 percent of fatal shootings this past year.

Witnesses reported that they heard gunshots from a nearby housing development and rushed over to see the car windows blown out. The preliminary investigation revealed that the male may have shot the female inside the car.
