Police are searching for the suspect who randomly punched the conductor of a 5 train as it was stopped at Grand Central Station on Thursday evening.
The unprovoked assault happened around 7:45 p.m. on May 22 at the 42nd Street–Grand Central station in Manhattan, according to the NYPD.
Police said the 55-year-old MTA employee was looking out the conductor’s window when an unidentified man approached and struck him in the face before fleeing the station on foot in an unknown direction.
The victim was taken by EMS to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.
The alleged suspect is described as a man with a medium complexion, approximately 35 to 39 years old, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a medium build and short black hair.
He was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans.
Police released surveillance images of the alleged suspect on Friday and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
