Detectives need the public’s help in finding a crook who molested, robbed and assaulted a woman in the stairwell of a Harlem apartment building earlier this week.

Law enforcement sources said the attack happened at 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 16 in the stairwell of an apartment building within the Lincoln Houses complex at 2155 Madison Ave.

According to police, the suspect approached the 54-year-old female victim and groped her genital area before removing $20 from her pants pocket. He then punched her in the face, causing a severe left eye injury.

Cops said the creepy robbery fled out of the building and was last seeing heading westbound on East 135th Street toward Madison Avenue.

Officers from the 25th Precinct and NYPD PSA 5 responded to the incident. Paramedics brought the injured woman to a local hospital in stable condition.

On Jan. 18, the NYPD released an image of the suspect. Anyone who’s seen him or knows where he is can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA), visit the Crime Stoppers website or send a direct message on Twitter @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
