Police arrest Manhattan man for murder in connection to fatal stabbing in Washington Heights Thursday: NYPD

Police have arrested a Manhattan man who allegedly stabbed a 45-year-old Washington Heights resident to death early Thursday morning.

Ezequiel Mendoza, 34, who lives about four blocks away from where the Washington Heights murder took place, allegedly killed Rashaun Howze when he stabbed the victim in the chest at around 5:20 a.m. in the vicinity of West 158th Street and Riverside Drive, cops said.

Police discovered Howze, who lived near where he was killed, on the ground after receiving a 911 call that a man had been stabbed by an apartment building near 613 West 158th St.

Howze was transported by EMS to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Mendoza has been charged with murder.
