At Monday’s Columbus Day Parade, Italian pride, music and floats were on display. But East Villager Tonino Manza, 54, had a more serious message. He carried a two-sided sign, each side bearing an image of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. The side not shown above portrayed Berlusconi with a clown nose. “He’s a dictator, he’s unfit to rule Italy,” Manza declared. “He’s lying to the country.” Italy’s third-richest man, Berlusconi is notorious for his sex scandals. Some marchers rushed to have their photo taken with Manza and his sign. Manza said “68 percent” of Italy feels like he does.
