Living in Midtown Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, it has been ten years since Myles Clohessy decided to follow in his father’s footsteps. Character actor Robert Clohessy is a veteran of motion pictures, television serials and Broadway. (Dad Robert is best-known for being a cast-regular on the iconic television series, “Blue Bloods”.) “Frontier Crucible”, a blood & guts Western starring Myles Clohessy, opens in many theaters on December 5th.

“I love all of the NYC activity and opportunities posed through my midtown Manhattan location,” Clohessy, 31, explains. “However, because of my role in ‘Frontier Crucible’, and the enjoyment I have received from shooting several other Westerns, this has motivated me to get a ranch with horses as a second home in Austin, Texas.”

Clohessy humors how “I’ve noted in the news media how many people are supposedly abandoning NYC because of Zohran Mamdani’s election as Mayor. This is NOT why I am leaving. I have come to love the life of a cowboy. So getting these movie parts and spending a little time in the West fulfills my fantasies! Rest assured if I get called for a quality police drama script, I will be right back at my Chelsea apartment.”

Myles’ resume reveals he is probably one of the hardest-working actors on the scene today. He has appeared in many movies and television serials. “I’ve enjoyed steady work—but there hasn’t been a major hit.” Myles is optimistic that “Frontier Crucible” where he has the lead role supported by names like William Macy, Armie Hammer, and Thomas Jane—will be a key to his success.

Based on the 1961 novel, Desert Stake Out, set in the 1870s Arizona territory, Clohessy plays Merrick Beckford, a washed-up but seasoned soldier. He’s called upon to guide a wagon full of medical supplies to its destination under the threat of attacks by Apaches. Clohessy gets forced into a tense scenario with three dangerous outlaws. There is intrigue, hostility, ugly conditions, and questions of survival to reach the outcome.

Myles has several more projects in the can, going into 2026. He’s just wrapped up filming “Flint”, another Western alongside Josh Holloway and Nanny Cam. He recently directed “Timber Lands,” yet another Western starring Wes Studi and Irene Bedard.
