Adrienne Poulakakos, partner in Harry’s restaurants, was 69

Adrienne M. Poulakakos, who was associated with her husband, Harry, and her son, Peter, in the family restaurants in Lower Manhattan, died on Mon. Aug. 4 after a brief illness at the age of 69.

Born in Brooklyn to Alfred and Mary Alice Nahas, she married Harry Poulakakos in 1965 and with him and their son, Peter, built the family restaurant business in Manhattan’s Financial District, including Harry’s of Hanover Sq., Harry’s at the American Exchange and more recently, Bayard’s in India House on Hanover Sq.

A resident with her family in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, she was active in the social, business and philanthropic life of Lower Manhattan.

In addition to her husband and son, her brothers, Edmund and Alfred Nahas, their wives, Vickie and Anne Marie, her brother-in-law, George Poulakakos, and his wife, Despina, and sisters-in-law, Angelique and Catherine, also survive.

The funeral was Fri., Aug. 6, at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church in Brooklyn. Donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, 8100 Ridge Blvd., Brooklyn.
